Taxes in Cyprus

What are the terms of using this site?

It is free to read. Nothing on it is advice, and before you act on anything here, check it for your own case. The rest of this page says the same at more length.

1 · Who we are

Who runs this site?

taxesincyprus.com is operated by Maximilian Berentzen (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at hello@taxesincyprus.com.

These terms apply to anyone who reads or uses the site. We may change them; the version on this page is the one that applies.

2 · Not advice

Is anything here advice?

No. Nothing on this site is tax, legal or financial advice, and we are not tax advisers.

The site explains how the rules work in general. It does not know your circumstances, and the same rule can come out differently for two people.

Reading the site, using its tools or writing to us does not create an adviser–client relationship, with us or with anyone else.

3 · Introductions

How do introductions work, and who pays?

The site is free to read, carries no advertising, and readers never pay.

If you ask through one of the site's forms to be introduced to an adviser, the founder reads your enquiry and passes it on only to a licensed adviser. If you become that adviser's client, the adviser pays the site.

An introduction is free and puts you under no obligation. Whatever you then agree with an adviser is between you and them, on their terms. We are not a party to it and are not responsible for their advice.

How we handle what you send is on the privacy page.

4 · Figures

How far can you rely on the figures?

We publish them in good faith. They are general, and the law changes.

We check the figures with care, but we cannot guarantee that every one is complete, up to date or right for your case. How we check them is on How we verify.

Tax law can change from one year to the next. The “Checked” date on a page is the latest date on which one of its sources was checked.

Before you act on anything here, check it for your own case with a licensed adviser or the Tax Department. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss that comes from relying on the site in place of advice on your own case.

6 · Law

Which law applies?

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus, and a dispute about them or about the site goes to the courts of Cyprus.

If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, that takes nothing away from you: the rules of your own country that protect consumers, and that cannot be set aside by agreement, still apply to you, and you can also bring a claim in the courts there.
